Defense Forward
Defense Forward Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 29, 2026.
This policy explains how DEFENSE FORWARD handles information from website visitors, quote and contact inquiries, brokerage operations, and our driver text-messaging program.
Information you provide
When you request a quote or contact us, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, company, email address, phone number, shipment locations and dates, commodity, equipment needs, vehicle details and special instructions. We also receive correspondence and documents you send in connection with a shipment or inquiry.
Our quote form is provided through Jotform. Information submitted through that form is processed by Jotform for delivery and access by Defense Forward. Jotform describes its handling of form and technical information in its Privacy Policy. Please provide only information relevant to your inquiry.
How we use and disclose information
We use inquiry and shipment information to respond to you, prepare quotes, coordinate transportation, communicate about shipments, handle documents and billing questions, and maintain operational records. We may provide relevant shipment and contact details to the carriers, shippers and facilities involved in the requested transportation.
We also use service providers for website hosting, forms, email, transportation management and messaging. These include Bluehost, Jotform, WALS TMS, Twilio and communications carriers, as applicable to the service you use. Information may also be disclosed when required by law or needed to respond to lawful requests or protect legal rights.
Website and embedded services
Website hosting and embedded form services may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device information, pages requested and access times. They may use cookies or similar technologies to provide their services, keep forms working and prevent abuse. You can manage cookies through your browser; blocking them may affect form functionality. Third-party services have their own privacy notices. Contact us if you prefer to make an inquiry by phone or email.
Driver SMS program
SMS preference submissions are stored in our website database hosted by Bluehost. Records include submitted details, checkbox choice, submission time, technical information such as IP address and browser details, and—for checked submissions—the accepted disclosure. Authorized staff review these records before sending an invitation. Submitting the form does not itself send email or texts, create an app account, or start location sharing.
With your separate written permission, Defense Forward sends nonmarketing driver app invitations for assigned loads and password-reset links you request. We collect your name and mobile number, SMS preference, evidence of when and how you agreed, and message-delivery and opt-out records. Message frequency varies with load assignments and your requests. Message and data rates may apply.
Providing a phone number, requesting a quote or contacting us does not by itself enroll you in this SMS program. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance. You may receive an opt-out confirmation.
We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell or share mobile numbers, SMS opt-in information or messaging consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may provide this information to service providers, including WALS TMS, Twilio and communications carriers, only as needed to operate the program, deliver messages, maintain consent records and support account access. This service-provider use does not authorize their own marketing. The operational disclosures described elsewhere in this policy do not permit selling or transferring SMS consent.
Separate app and location permission
The brokerage driver app is being prepared and is not yet publicly released. App invitations will be sent when access is available. Agreeing to texts does not authorize GPS tracking or create an app account.
When available, the app will separately ask you to accept location sharing for a particular load and grant device permissions. During an accepted session, location may be sent while the app is in the background or the screen is off so authorized Defense Forward staff can follow the load. You can stop location sharing in the app. The app will also provide operational load information and allow proof-of-delivery uploads. SMS opt-out and app location sharing are separate controls.
Records and your choices
How long information is kept depends on the inquiry, shipment, consent record and applicable recordkeeping needs. Records may be retained for ongoing operations, consent evidence, disputes and legal obligations. Contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of your information; some records may need to be retained. We may need information to verify and address your request.
For SMS help, privacy requests or non-SMS coordination, email dispatch@defenseforward.com or call (916) 741-6611. To end an active location session, use Stop sharing in the app.
